gate-small2

shutter speed 1/25

exposure bias 2.0

f 5.6

I believe this photo was to bright, and blurry, because of the shutter speed… if the shutter was slow i had more time to move and make it blurry, and if it was open longer it let more light in.

gate-2-small1

shutter speed 1/100

exposure bias 0.00

f 5.6

i believe in this pic, the shutter speed was better, because the pic is not blurry and its not to bright

gate-3-small1

shutter speed 1/400

-2.00

f 5.6

i like this pic the most because it shows more life like color and it is not blurry.

Flower Exposure 0.0

Flower Exposure 0.0

In this assignment we manipulated the exposure of light in the pictures. This is at the 0.0 exposure. The shutter speed was at 1/320 and the aperture was at 3.3. So this picture has a large aperture and a fast shutter speed.

Flower Exposure 2.0

Flower Exposure 2.0

Here the Shutter speed was 1/80 and the aperture was also 3.3. The result of a picture with a large aperture is that too much light is entering because the shutter speed was slow and allowed a lot of light in.

Flower exposure -2.0

Flower exposure -2.0

In this photo the shutter speed was extremely fast, it was 1/1000 and the aperture was 4.6. This means the opening was very small only allowing a little bit of light in and the shutter speed was an accomplice to that, being at 1/1000 of a second.

plant-small

Exposure: -2.0

Shutter: 1/1500

Aperture: F 7.1

This picture was taken during the day and since the exposure was in -2 it made the picture look like it was taken in a dark cloudy day.I really like this feature.

plant2-small

Exposure: 0.00

Shutter: 1/500

Aperture: F 7.1

This picture was taken in the day and the exposure was in normal. It looks like a normal picture without being edited.

plant3-small

E3xposure: 2.00

Shutter: 1/500

Aperture: F 3

This picture looks really bright. The exposure made it look like it was taken in a bright day.

This picture of the virgin mary was taking on the grounds of St. Benedicts. The reason that it is very clear is beacuse the exposure in this case was 2.0

This picture of the virgin mary was taking on the grounds of St. Benedicts. The reason the picture is getting darker is beacuse the exposure is getting lower. In this case the exposure is 0

This picture of the virgin mary was taking on the grounds of St. Benedicts. As we can see that this picture is darker then the rest of the other two pictures. In this case the exposure was at its lowest -2.0

These are pictures taken from the stairs in Leahy House.

This picture was taken from the stairs in Leahy House. It was taken with +5 exposure. It's hard to see any detail because of the amount of exposure.

This picture was taken from the same place and the exposure was 0.

This was the last photo taken from this position. The exposure was +5 and it is very hard to see anything in the picture.

These pictures were all taken at the same time and each one has a different type of exposure. The exposure changes the amount of light in the photo from really light to really dark and in this case it looks like it change the time of day when the only thing that has change is the light exposure.

SPRING PHASE/PROJECT PHASE 2009

We arrive at the start of another Project Phase at SBP.  This will be a stimulating and challenging course.

Your first assignment is to post an entry: (1) find FIVE photographs online – include a link to each photo; (2) describe why you like the photograph – why did you pick the particular image, what makes the image attractive to you, what you might want to learn about the photo.  Remember: you must do this for FIVE separate photos.  This journal entry will be graded.

Deadline: Wednesday, May 6
